“In the journal I do not just express myself more openly than I could to any person; I create myself.”

Susan Sontag

So we’ve got a thing for notebooks.  It’s a problem, really.  Every time we get together in person, out come the notebooks we are each working and sketching in, and inevitably, we both make lists and usually purchase the others’ said notebooks.  The Wanderings Journal was no exception.  Marian pulled it out of her backpack, and as I am a sucker for all things leather, now there are two.

There is just something about writing down your thoughts, even if you aren’t what you would consider a writer.  Journaling is a powerful tool of expression, even done in bullet points.  And finding a notebook or journal you love to pick up is artful in and of itself.

I have a notebook for every company I work with, so for example, right now I have 5 running notebooks.  Some are for the to do’s, or the client needs, and some, like this one, are for the ideas.  The inspiration.  The creativity.  We would suggest that keeping a creative journal separate from your to do lists is a wise and helpful tool.  It keeps you centered in creative thinking when you pick it up.

Some things we love about the Wanderings Leather Journal:  For starters, It lays flat when open, hallelujah.

It has soft, beautiful leather cover and clasp, so it wears wonderfully as you use it.

The notebooks are slim and compact, AND affordable, so you can replace them as you move through your works.

We both have the sketch books, lined, and dotted graph notebooks inside our journals.  Great minds, right??

Hope you enjoy it if you decide to snag yourself one!  We’ll be sharing our favorite creative contraptions weekly…our obsessions certainly don’t end in the notebook arena.  Keep creating, friends!
