“No matter what your age or your life path, whether making art is your career or your hobby or your dream, it is not too late or too egotistical or too selfish or too silly to work on your creativity.”
Julia Cameron, “The Artist’s Way”
Do you ever just come absolutely alive when you talk about something in particular? Does simply the thought of it move you??
When we talk about TCe, we come alive.
When we sit down or hop on the phone, and we talk about this creative work we do, and how it weaves into who we are, at the core, we come alive. We talk about creative work and making it a habit, protecting it, and upholding it for ourselves first, and then for others.
And when we start talking about how your creative voice may be the only one in the world that moves someone else…man, do we really come alive. And that’s why we started The Creative Exponent. In this episode, you’ll hear us talk about how our creative dabbling led us here, and how we want you to multiply your creative efforts and own your creative place in the world.
We want you to go for it. We know you can.
We are all in this together. This living creatively. For some of us, turning our creativity into creative work we put out into the world is a part of this story, and for some, creativity will be for you and your family. We hope you enjoy this first episode of the TCe podcast, and you stick around.
Like you, we’ll be here, discovering, upholding, and sharing our creativity.
The creative Journey
We all have our own creative journeys, and they all look entirely different. We chat about our own stories and what led us here, to this place. to this passion of helping other creatives embrace their own story.
Becoming.
How do we do this? How do we live as a creative, protect that gift, and share it into the world. We’ll tell you a little of our own stories, and how we pose this question for you and for ourselves: how do we live as this creative, and continue to become? To let these gifts within us to transform us…
your creative voice.
Do you believe your creative voice has its own place in this world? That YOUR voice matters? Do you sometimes find it difficult to be brave and share it amidst the fears that whisper, “you’re not good enough,” or “you don’t have anything to share that matters?”
We get it. That’s why we’re here. This conversation matters. You matter. Your creative voice MATTERS.
I am OBSESSED with the name of this project… the multitudes (exponents, even ?…) of meanings that “exponent” conjures, when combined with “creative” is overwhelming! I cannot stop playing with this phrase. It speaks to my heart. It SINGS to my heart.
I am an introvert, and suspect a lot of artists and creators are. My writing and other creative expressions are pieces of my soul, and it’s scary to bare them. The first and loudest thing I hear in “The Creative Exponent” is “ex.” As in, the opposite of “in.” As in putting myself “out there,” as in, going public. As in, participating in a creative community.
It is not an exaggeration to say that—between here and Mustard Seed Mentoring— I feel blessed to have finally found a home for my soul.
